For a fan base in need of good news, the
commitment of wide receiver Frank
Epitropoulos to Ohio State was certainly a
breath of fresh air for the Buckeyes. The
Epitropoulos name has long been associated
with Ohio State, as both the player's father
and an uncle played for the Buckeyes. The
three-star recruit is the latest commit in
the 2012 recruiting class for Ohio State.
"I did commit to Ohio State," Epitropoulos
stated. "I chose Ohio State because I
believe that is the best football program in
the country, and one with a great coaching
staff. I really feel like I can help them at
wide receiver and occasionally punting."
Epitropoulos, 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, joins
Joshua Perry, Warren Ball, Jacoby Boren and
Brionte Dunn in the current class for the
Buckeyes. He is currently ranked as the
number-24 prospect in Ohio, in what is
considered a strong year in-state.
With his father, John, and an uncle, Ernie,
having played for Ohio State, it seemed
natural that Epitropoulos would choose to
play college football for the Buckeyes.
"Obviously, my parents are very happy with
my decision, and they are very proud today,"
he admitted.
Epitropoulos, 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, does a
little bit of everything for Upper
Arlington, and is ranked as a three-star
recruit. As a wide receiver, he caught 29
passes for 500 yards and five touchdown
catches in 2010. He also starred at free
safety, and averaged over 40 yards per punt.
