The commitment by Plantation (FLA) safety Jeremy Cash to Ohio State has been in the works for over a year, following a 2009 summer visit to the Buckeye's senior camp. Cash admits he was smitten with Ohio State instantly, and Sunday's commitment is the end result of that courtship by the Buckeye coaching staff.

How does a great football player from the Miami-area decide to attend Ohio State? For Jeremy Cash, it was basically love at first sight.

"Well, when I was fourteen I had an Ohio State sweatshirt that I bought at a college fair," he stated. "From that day on I told people I was going to Ohio State, but I didn't know why I liked them. Then, once I came to their camp, things just blew me away."

"When I got to Ohio for their camp, I couldn't believe how hot it was up there," he explained. "I'm a Florida kid, but I was shocked at how humid it was. Of course, I was wearing my best business suit, not a pair of shorts and t-shirt."

Even though Cash was impressed by his first trip to Columbus, it took a return trip in the fall, to seal the deal for him and his parents. Ironically, that moment occurred in a home loss to USC, but the Cash family was sold on Ohio State.

Even though Cash knows the other schools will not stop recruiting him, he says nothing will change his decision to commit to Ohio State.

"I know how recruiting works, but nothing will change my mind," he stressed. "My family didn't raise me that way, and this was a family decision, so please write that I'm all-Buckeye."

"I will be enrolling early to Ohio State, and I will be going through spring football," he continued. "I graduate in early January and I will be enrolling as soon as possible at Ohio State. If I can't enroll until March, then I will find a place to live in Columbus to get ready for spring ball. I'm going there to make my family proud of me, both on the field and in the classroom.”
