And now
there are six Ohio State commitments, for
the 2011 class, as Palatine (ILL) William
Fremd lineman Brian Bobek called the Buckeye
coaching staff with the news.
Bobek's commitment is the fourth in the past
24 hours for Ohio State, following decisions
made by Chris Carter, Antonio Underwood and
DerJuan Gambrell.
"I wanted you to be the first to know I have
committed to Ohio State, " Bobek said of his
announcement. "I called (assistant coach)
Jim Bollman today and told him I wanted to
be a Buckeye. I was driving back yesterday
from visits to Michigan and Michigan State,
and heard of the two linemen committing. I
thought to myself that I better get on the
ball here, and get this done."
"The nice thing was that Ohio State had
e-mailed me yesterday, telling me of the
other two commits, and letting me know it
had no effect on me at all," he continued.
"In fact, they told me that I was the only
center they were offering, and they were
prepared to wait until I made my decision
before recruiting another one. That made me
feel so comfortable with them, and let me
know how badly they wanted me."
