Reed is listed as a quarterback by Scout and has said that the Buckeyes are recruiting him with the opportunity to begin his Ohio State career as a signal caller. The 6-2, 185-pounder, who led Marion-Franklin to the Ohio Division II semifinals thanks to three touchdown passes in the regional final against rival Brookhaven, keeps adding athletic ability to the Buckeyes' class. He was offered by Ohio State in early December and took an official visit this past weekend. Reed becomes the 15th commitment in Ohio State's class and first since Brown pulled the trigger in September, although 2009 commitment Carlos Hyde has now joined the class after a year at prep school. Reed also had offers from schools such as Syracuse, Toledo, Bowling Green and Kent State.
