~OSU Sets Spring Game Attendance Record

A national spring game record crowd of 95,722 was on hand to watch Terrelle Pryor throw two touchdown passes in 30 seconds, leading the Gray over the Scarlet 23-3. The warm weather played a big role in the attendance, which topped the 92,138 Alabama drew for Saban's coaching debut in 2007. "First, kudos go out to our fans," Jim Tressel said. "It was a beautiful day, and gives you a little bit of electricity and a little energy and a little reminder of how much interest there is in Ohio State football."

~Lamarcus 'Six Star' Joyner Makes Visit
St. Thomas Aquinas superstar Lamarcus Joyner created quite a stir by unofficially visiting OSU for the spring game. Joyner, one of the top prospects in the country, currently holds offers from most of the top programs. Joyner was awed by a spring game record crowd of more than 95,000 people.  "I was pretty stunned by the whole atmosphere at Ohio State," Joyner said of his first trip to Columbus. "Being able to see practice and spend time with the players was everything I could have hoped for."

~Smith Names Favorite, Talks Commitment
About a month ago, Roderick Smith said he planned to wait until his senior season was completed to make a college decision. Now, after an eye-opening visit to Ohio State, the four-star running back from Fort Wayne (IN) Paul Harding has a sooner date in mind.  He has his weekend trip to check out the Buckeyes to thank.  “Ohio State is my top school,” he said. “I think my decision will be coming up quicker, probably sometime in July. I liked the atmosphere Saturday. It was great.”

~Buckeyes Land Another 2010 Recruit
For the Ohio State Buckeyes the annual spring game is always a very important recruiting tool. During the 2008 spring game OSU reeled in, or basically secured numerous commitments. The same thing is happening this year.  Scott McVey seemed like a natural fit at Ohio State as soon as he earned a scholarship offer late in 2008, and he ended any drama by making up his mind and then issuing a verbal commitment before Saturday's spring game.  He chose OSU over Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame.

~2010 Class Continues to Grow
Ohio State picked up another verbal member for the class of 2010 when David Durham wrestled his way into landing a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes.  The linebacker prospect from Austin, Texas first got to see the OSU campus and make contact with the coaches when he was in town for a wrestling camp.  “You know where you fit, and when I went to Ohio State I knew I fit,” he said. “All the tradition, all the aura of Ohio State football, you want to be a Buckeye when you go up there.”

~Glenville Pipeline Continues to Flow
As expected, Cleveland (Glenville) offensive lineman Marcus Hall became the 26th member of the 2009 Ohio State recruiting class.  Hall, who visited Tennessee over the weekend and also had been considering Miami and Michigan among many others, jumped into the Glenville pipeline that has led for eight years or so to Ohio State.  He is considered the top line prospect in the state by recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts and is the fourth offensive lineman to join the class.
